Resumo
A Doença Óssea de Paget (DOP) é uma condição crónica e progressiva que afeta a remodelação óssea, levando ao crescimento anormal e subsequente enfraquecimento de certos ossos. Embora seja uma patologia cuja incidência e/ou severidade tem vindo a diminuir com a melhoria do acesso a cuidados médicos, tem relevância clínica devido às suas complicações e tratamentos específicos. Este trabalho visou realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os casos reportados de Doença Óssea de Paget em Portugal, com o objetivo de mapear a prevalência, as características clínicas, os diagnósticos e os tratamentos adotados no contexto nacional. Recorreu-se às bases de dados científicas PubMed, SCOPUS, B-on, Web of Science e RCAAP, e as palavras-chave foram “doença óssea de Paget” e “Portugal”, tanto em português como em inglês. Analisaram-se artigos, relatórios de caso e dissertações completas, publicados sobre a doença e de acesso livre, com amostragem portuguesa. Além disso, foram considerados dados sobre a evolução do diagnóstico e do tratamento clínico da DOP ao longo dos anos. A revisão identificou tendências na manifestação da doença e os possíveis condicionantes no tratamento e no acompanhamento dos pacientes em território português. Os resultados da pesquisa contribuirão para melhorar o conhecimento do publico em geral sobre a Doença Óssea de Paget, assim como apresentar um resumo atualizado sobre a sua incidência em Portugal.
