Resumo

O envelhecimento é um fenómeno natural e inevitável na vida humana, assim como a morte. No entanto, diversos fatores podem dificultar a aceitação dessa experiência, levando à ansiedade face à morte. O presente estudo realizou uma scooping review seguindo o método PRISMA, com critérios de inclusão que focaram em artigos sobre ansiedade face à morte publicados em inglês nos últimos três anos. Os resultados identificaram um total de 27 estudos para revisão, sendo a maioria publicada em 2022 (n=11). As características mais proeminentes desses estudos foram a associação da ansiedade face à morte à religião, o uso de amostragem por conveniência, o delineamento transversal (n=14) e quantitativo (n=19), além da aplicação da Escala de Ansiedade face à Morte de Templer. A ansiedade face à morte em adultos mais velhos é um conceito complexo e multidimensional, cuja definição ainda é debatida entre os pesquisadores, influenciada por fatores sociodemográficos (género, estado civil, idade, nível socioeconómico) e fatores contextuais (solidão, suporte social e familiar, saúde, habitação e autonomia).
